Mariano Ramos

Mariano Ramos Narváes was born in October 26, 1953. He is from Mexico city. He was born into a family of profesional "Charros" (Mexican cowboys). He was just in the first year of prepschool when he made the debut like a novillero. That was at Plaza "La Florecita" in February 21, 1970.

He fought for the first time at Plaza Mexico in July 18, 1971. That afternoon he cut an ear of a difficult novillo. Since that, a lot of triumphs became fastly: In nine afternoons at Plaza Mexico, he was awarded seven ears and the Silver's Sword trophy.

He received the alternativa in November 20, 1971, in Irapuato. Tha godfather was Manolo Martinez, and Francisco "Curro" Rivera was the witness. Bulls were from Santacilia's ranch. He confirmed the alternativa at Plaza Mexico in December 5, 1971. Manolo Martinez was the godfather again, and Antonio Lomelin was the witness. Bulls were from Tequisquiapan.

He fought 27 times in Spain in 1974. He confirmed the alternativa at Plaza "Las Ventas" with Curro Romero like godfather and "Paquirri" like the witness. Bulls were from Baltazar´s ranch.

Nobody at Plaza Mexico can forget 1982 when Mariano made a great performance to "Timbalero", a bul from Piedras Negras. Another great day was in July 30, 1994 at Toreo de Cuatro Caminos, when he got the pardon of a bull from Arroyo Zarco's ranch

At this moment, Mariano Ramos is in his retirement campaign, but he is thinking about becoming a Rejoneador. His great personality make him an artist, never gored and very intelligent bullfighter. Today, He is the great "Torero charro".
